Piercing the Manhattan skyline, 111 West 57th Street exalts the classic skyscrapers of a bygone era and sets new standards for luxury living.

SBI Consultants was retained by The Client to provide advisory and technical solutions for the construction of 111 West 57th Street, one of the tallest residential skyscrapers in the Western Hemisphere standing at 1,428 feet and the most slender skyscraper in the world with a height-to-width ratio of 24:1.

Located in Midtown Manhattan, the creation of the 84-story tower involved renovating the embedded landmarked Steinway Hall, built in 1925, and constructing an adjacent skyscraper that retained many elements of the original building, including the brick and limestone exterior, copper roofs and double-height windows.

The completed skyscraper offers 46 full-floor and duplex residences and 50,000 GSF of prime retail space. Amenities include an 82-foot swimming pool housed in a light-filled room featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, private dining rooms with a chef’s catering kitchen, a golf simulator, and a landscaped terrace. With its soaring height, the skyscraper has sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline and beyond.

For this groundbreaking project, SBI provided due diligence that involved validating construction-related costs and timelines and reporting on the activities of the development team. SBI assessed current construction progress in conjunction with planned procurement and construction activities and advised of our findings.
