Hospital for Special Surgery – West Side Ambulatory Surgery Center OR

The Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) upgraded the HSS West Side Ambulatory Surgery Center (ACS) with a new operating room, two new post-anesthesia care unit bays, and the retrofitting of a storage room to become a sterile clean supply.

SBI Consultants provided leadership solutions for the construction and closeout phases of this project. Specific tasks involved monitoring and reporting on the general contractor’s performance and project progress, budget and critical items; monitoring contractors and reporting to HSS with recommendations; and coordinating FF&E procurement and installation costs and schedule.

Throughout the project, SBI worked with HSS as an integral member of the project team, assisting in collaboration and communication between involved parties, providing regular reports, anticipating cost related issues, offering practical solutions, and working to successfully resolve issues as they arose.

Now complete, the new OR at the HSS West Side ACS allows HSS to continue to provide superb comprehensive orthopedic care in an environment designed for athletes of all levels.
