Memorial Sloan Kettering – Pavilion

Designed at the forefront of innovation, the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre (MSK) Pavilion is a transformational cancer treatment and research center that will meet the evolving needs of cancer patients over the next century. The timeless building will be exclusively dedicated to patient care.
SBI is providing Technical, Advisory, and Leadership Solutions to MSK to construct the Pavilion, located on MSK’s flagship Manhattan campus on York Avenue between East 66th Street and East 67th Street. Devoted entirely to patient care, the 594-foot high, 31-story Pavilion will encompass 850,287 GSF featuring 28 operating/procedure suites and approximately 200 inpatient beds. The LEED certified tower will house advanced technology, including cutting-edge robotics, improved digital infrastructure, and enhanced operating and procedure suites. The Pavilion will be connected to the Memorial Hospital via a patient bridge and tunnel, which will provide access to a below-grade garage. To propel this ambitious project, SBI is providing essential cost estimating services that involve establishing cost programs for the various departments of the building project and developing target value modalities that will inform the team through every project phase. SBI’s cost management team is reviewing the adequacy and reasonableness of the CM trade estimates and contingencies, including holds and allowances, and is identifying any irregularities that are brought forth for resolution. Throughout all project phases, SBI is maintaining a keen eye on cost-benefit opportunities and constructability issues that impact project performance.
The new MSK Pavilion is a critical component in ensuring that all New Yorkers have access to the best doctors and scientists in the world well into the future. SBI is providing innovative and actionable solutions that mitigate risk and manage schedule and cost to enable the MSK Pavilion to be delivered on time.
